A recent update released by game developer Rockstar for its "Grand Theft Auto 5" video game has reportedly caused more trouble in the game's overall performance. Various reports have surfaced in forums and other social media platforms, which pointed out that patch 1.28 is the main culprit of the problem, a report from Digital Trends stated on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a report from Lazy Gamer indicated that the problems encountered by the players were due to the game's anti-modding protection after Rockstar has re-introduced it in the "Grand Theft Auto 5" video game.
"Rockstar Games strengthened their protections against modding introduced in the first update. Included in this was a whopping 3 MB of junk code designed to confuse modders. Instead of the native functions of the game being accessible directly... this severely impacts performance, resulting in gameplay at 3 frames per second-even on some of the strongest PC systems available today," claimed LCPD First Response Mod as quoted in the same website.
According to Digital Trends, some Reddit users have actually encountered the same technical bugs even though there were no mods installed. The report noted that there's a possibility that the video game's patch could eventually stop players from hacking "GTA Online." It further acknowledged that a bug still exists and reportedly affects the performance of the game.
The same website also reported that gamers have specifically encountered micro-sluttering and frame-rate drops problems since the update was rolled out. A deluge of comments related to the problems in the "Grand Theft Auto 5" have been posted in various gaming forums such as Reddit and Steam.
The bulk of comments were indicative that the issue is actually not an isolated case. The scenario has prompted Rockstar to issue a statement on Monday as the bug adversely affects gameplay. "We have received reports of lower framerate in GTAV and GTA Online after Title Update 1.28 on PC, and we are looking into these reports now," the company said in its website.
