"Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" star Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta Mellark in the film, reportedly became a tad bit emotional during his last filming day for the movie. In an interview with MTV News, Hutcherson recounted a time when franchise director Francis Lawrence gave out an emotional speech during their last filming day. According to the actor, that moment was so surreal for him.
"Francis. I was like, 'Francis is crying?' I didn't even know he had tear ducts, that's insane! It was so beautiful and shocking and a little scary, too. The first time you see your dad cry you're like, 'Ahh, I don't know how to handle this!'" he said.
Lawrence's emotional moment triggered Hutcherson's tear ducts as well. The actor said that he too was saddened by the fact that the franchise has already come to an end. However, even if this was the case, the actor is already looking forward to what lies ahead for his career.
"It's not the end. It's only the beginning," he said at the San Diego Comic-Con.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" will chronicle the life of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and her attempts to revolt against President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and the Capitol. In the sequel, Katniss will also be tasked to complete a revolution, otherwise her family and friends will die in the hands of the Capitol.
Meanwhile, Hutcherson recently appeared on Conan O'Brien's talk show last week and was joined by his "Hunger Games" co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth, who plays Gale Hawthorn. During their appearance, the trio belted their own rendition of Cher's 1998 hit song "Believe," which garnered them a warm applause from the audiences, according to Design N Trend.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" will be released in theaters in the United States on November 20. The film also stars Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz, Willow Shields, Wes Bentley and more.
