Marvel Cinema Update: Hugh Jackman Teases “Wolverine 3” Follows the Old Man Logan Story

"I've got three words for you guys: 'Old Man Logan'. As I promised, this next time is my last time putting on the claws, it's one last tim," the man who plays Wolverine stated as quoted by Joblo news.

These are the words of Hugh Jackman at the San Diego Comic Con, teasing attendees as to the possible plot of "Wolverine 3". This is in addition to confirming a cameo in Bryan Singer's X-MEN: APOCALYPSE.

The Marvel comic book 'Old Man Logan' was written by Mark Millar where the story takes place 50 years into the future. The story starts with Wolverine living with his family in a tragic landscape together with the Red Skull, Kingpin and other few bad guys.

Logan is short on money has Hulk's badass grandchildren which happens to be his landlords, make it clear that he needs to pay up or he and his loved ones will be in deep trouble. For him to get the money, he accepted his final mission with a now blind Hawkeye where they will encounter tons of trouble along the way, as expected, reported by the Screen Rant.

Many fans would love to see this movie that is inspired by 'Old Man Logan' but, it is important to remember that Fox does not have the rights to many characters involved in the comic story (villains took over and killed many of the iconic Marvel heroes in the process after Wolverine was tricked into killing the X-Men, and he refuses to pop his claws ever again).

As examples, Fox definitely cannot show big heroes like Captain America and Thor have been killed since both are owned by Marvel. The studio cannot have Wolverine working with Hawkeye as the latter is also owned by Marvel, or even a small detail like Wolverine riding on a Spider-Buggy, Screen Rant news added.

After dropping the news, Jackman gave a speech to bid farewell to the character, reported by Huffington Post. It has been 16 years since he auditioned for the Wolverine, and for him Wolverine is the greatest part that he has ever had in his life. For him, it is the greatest comic book character ever made.

Hugh Jackman did not say anything about Wolverine appearing in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse." According to"Apocalypse" director Bryan Singer though, he said that the character may probably show up in the new X-Men film.
