Emmys 2015: Nominations Predictions; Who Makes the Cut?

Everyone is waiting for the announcement of this year's nominees for the Primetime Emmy Awards. On July 16, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is set to announce the official nominees. While waiting, some websites have come up with their list of favorites and predictions as to who deserve to be nominated.

TV.com presented their favorite actors and actresses for the drama categories. According to the website, with these predictions, they try to get into the mind of the Emmy voters and note some particularly worthy performances in television for the past year.

For best actor in a supporting role in a drama series, the website predicts that "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage, Mandy Patinkin of "Homeland" and Jon Voight of "Ray Donovan" might be three of the prime candidates for the award this year. All of the actors had memorable episodes in their respective shows, which is why the website considers them to be on the top list.

Anna Gunn from "Breaking Bad" bagged the award for best supporting actress in a drama series for the last two years. However, TV.com believes that "Game of Thrones" star Lena Headey has a strong position for nomination this year because of her performance in the latest season of the show. Other potential candidates, according to the website, are "Good Wife" star Christine Baranski, Christina Hendricks of "Mad Men" and "Downtown" actress Maggie Smith.

For the nominations for the lead actor in a drama series, the website considers Jon Hamm from "Mad Men" who has been nominated for seven years in a row without a win and Kevin Spacey from "House of Cards."

According to the website, for the lead actress in a drama series, all six nominees from last year could be back this year. This includes last year's winner, "The Good Wife" star Julianna Margulies, Claire Danes (Homeland) and Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey).

For the comedy category, Variety thinks that Jim Parsons from "The Big Bang Theory" is still a favorite for the lead actor in a comedy series award. However, the website believes that he will be in great competition with Jeffrey Tambor, who reportedly made an excellent performance in "Transparent." For the actress category, Variety thinks that Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez has a stellar and relatable performance in CW's "Jane the Virgin."

The Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on September 20 on Fox. Official nominees will be revealed on July 16.
