Amid the donut-licking fiasco that Ariana Grande has been involved in, the donut shop, Wolfee Donuts, will not file charges against the pop star. In a report, ET Online said that the Riverside County Sheriff's Department has ended its investigation, and no charges are being pressed against 22-year-old Grande who was caught on the store's CCTV camera licking and spitting on a tray of doughnuts on display.
The incident caused public uproar and even led public health officials to launch an investigation into Wolfee Donuts. The incident has reportedly resulted in the downgrade of the donut store's rating from A to B. Despite this, store owner Joe Marin said that they are not pressing charges against Grande who already apologized twice for the incident.
Despite the incident and the downgrade, the community continue to buy donuts from Wolfee. In fact, Marin said that their sales have tripled since the controversial incident. According to People, the donut store has been receiving support from all over Los Angeles.
"Everyone has come from all over Los Angeles to show their support," the owner said as quoted by People. "Costumers are putting things on the window saying, 'With us you're an A plus.' "
Local minor-league baseball team Lake Elsinore Storm even dedicated one of its home games to the doughnut shop, ordering 1,000 doughnuts to give to fans at the game and taking $5 off tickets for anyone who shows a Wolfee receipt at the game.
"We wanted to show support for Wolfee's Donuts, America and the local community," said Storm General Manager Raj Narayanan on the Lake Elsinore Storm's official website.
In the controversial video, aside from the donut licking, Grande also said, "What the f**k is that? I hate Americans. I hate America. That's disgusting." She has since apologized for her behavior.
