Shonda Rhimes is hoping to have her fourth successful show with the release of "The Catch." Rhimes is known for her acclaimed drama shows like "Scandal," "How To Get Away With Murder," and the long-running series, "Grey's Anatomy."
According to Cinemablend, the show will star "The Killing" actress Mirielle Enos, who will play Alice. Alice is a fraud investigator who loses everything when she finds out that her fiancé is just after the money she's made.
"The Catch" is created by Rhimes, and Betsy Beers will executive produce the show alongside Julie Anne Robinson and Jennifer Schuur, who will reportedly write the pilot episode. Mireille Enos was cast to star as the female lead in the show back in March.
In an earlier interview, Enos revealed that the show is a thriller, which will be exciting. She added that it will be about con artists and there will be a kind of cat-and-mouse game. She also revealed that her character may have something to hide as well, so fans should expect many levels of conning in the show.
As of writing, Rhimes has chosen to replace Damon Dayoub, who was originally cast to play the role of Alice's fiancé, Kieran Booth. Replacing him will be "Parenthood" actor, Peter Krause. According to Variety, Karuse will play a longtime con-man who victimizes people to get their money. The story will revolve around Alice's life who is about to be the next victim of Kieran. It was reported that in between solving cases, Alice will try to find Kieran before he ruins her career.
According to E Online, this will be Krause's first TV appearance since his role ended in "Parenthood." He also appeared in other television shows like "Six Feet Under," "Cybill," "Sports Night," and "Dirty Sexy Money." He was nominated for three Emmys and Two Golden Globe awards for his stellar performance in "Six Feet Under."
There is no specific air date yet for the show, but it was reportedly picked up by ABC for its 2015 to 2016 season.
