CBS' TV show "Extant" comes back tonight for its third episode of the second season. Titled "Empathy for the Devil," the latest episode provides a shocking revelation that reportedly answers one of the major questions from Season 1.
According to Hollywood Hills, the press release for episode 3 states that Molly (Halle Berry) will finally discover the "frightening" truth about her other son. Buddy TV reports that episode 1 of the show revealed that Molly's "supposedly dead alien son is alive and well, albeit having aged into adulthood." Now episode 3 is reportedly set to reveal what really happened to him. [Spoiler Alert!]
Meanwhile, Julie's (Grace Gummer) decision to erase Ethan's (Pierce Gagnon) memory will have major consequences. According to Christian Today, Julie is tasked by her boss (Hilarie Burton) to come up with a stronger robot in exchange of her custody over Ethan. Charlie (Tyler Hilton), however, doesn't want to be part of the project even if it means losing Ethan.
When Ethan finds out that Charlie is giving him up and that he would not see his mother again, he tries to kill himself, but Julie and Charlie are able to stop him by promising him that they would stay on the project. Molly, on the other hand, finally discovers the truth that her other son is the man meeting women for one-night stands, and she soon realizes that a drone was stalking him.
With such developments, "Extant" is expected to make more shocking revelations and twists in its upcoming episodes. Recently, it was reported that the show will feature "overall style change" in Season 2, with the slow storytelling to be replaced with more action-packed scenes. Molly's character is also expected to undergo changes in the show's current season.
"Extant" Season 2 airs every Wednesday on CBS at 9 p.m.
