For the first time since the incident, Kristen Stewart may have just shed light on the cheating scandal she got involved to in 2012 with her "Snow White and Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders, inquistr.com reports.
The actress, 25, made headlines worldwide when photos of her and the 44-year-old director hugging and kissing while out and about in Los Angeles circulated back in 2012. At that time, Sanders was married to model Liberty Ross, with whom he has two children, while Stewart was in a years-long relationship with her British co-Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, 29.
Stewart is gracing the cover of Marie Claire's August issue where she opened up in an interview discussing her true self and starting over after one batsh*t crazy year.
Stewart, who will star the upcoming film "American Ultra", talked about her "debilitating" teen years where she admitted to have suffered from severe anxiety to the point of making herself sick.
"On her success at a young age: 'Between ages 15 and 20, it was really intense. I was constantly anxious. I was kind of a control freak. If I didn't know how something was going to turn out, I would make myself ill, or just be locked up or inhibited in a way that was really debilitating.'"
She also candidly talked about her "traumatic" early 20s.
"On her past and moving forward: 'I lit my universe on fire and I watched it burn. Speaking very candidly, it was a really traumatic period in my early 20s that kick-started something in me that was a bit more feral.'"
Just hours within the release of the story, many had been quick to speculate that Stewart's confession about her early 20s struggles was a direct nod to the affair she had with Sanders.
In a report by dailmail.co.uk, the 25-year-old actress claims to have then faced the issue bravely and not allowing it to destroy her. She further added that what happened has now helped her find more perspective.
'I'm really proud that I am able to move forward and not fall into every mental crater,' she admitted. 'That's a new thing for me. Age has made me smarter and calmer. And it is f***ing awesome.'
Now, Kristen is stronger more than ever and more confident with her decisions.
'Lately, I've been doing less of the "I'm sooooo sorry" and more of the "No",' she explained.
Currently, Kristen is allegedly dating her personal assistant, Alicia Cargile, as they have been seen holding hands while out and about in Los Angeles but she is yet to open up about the relationship.
