Lil Wayne and Birdman's feud has reportedly escalated to another level. On Sunday night, an expected melee happened at Jim Jones' birthday party at Miami hotspot Liv when Birdman apparently threw liquor on Wayne on stage while the latter was performing.
Wayne was seen soaked with liquor while people including Birdman were also spotted soaking wet during the altercation. The former protégé allegedly was rapping about his grumbles about Cash Money records. A copy of the video was posted by TMZ where people were also seen throwing cups containing vodka.
Meanwhile, a party-goer captured the whole clash and posted it on Instagram. Some people hinted that Birdman was the one who threw liquor on the rapper. They were also shouting the name of the Cash Money founder. Instead of causing trouble, Wayne, on the other hand, just gazed at Birdman, according to NY Daily News.
Back in December, Weezy posted on Twitter his grunts toward his mentor, Cash Money co-founder Birdman, whose real name is Bryan "Baby" Williams.
"I am a prisoner and so is my creativity," he tweeted. "To all my fans, I want you to know my album won't and hasn't been released because Baby and Cash Money Records refuse to release it. I want off this label and nothing to do with these people, but unfortunately it ain't that easy," according to The Daily Beast.
According to some reports, Lil Wayne and Birdman's feud began when the "Lollipop" rapper attempted to sign up a recording for Jay Z. In January, Weezy filed a $51 million lawsuit against Birdman, who apparently needed to pay him $8 million for the unreleased Tha Carter V album.
Birdman reportedly stood as Wayne's mentor and acted as his "father." Wayne joined Cash Money records as early as nine years old and he apparently called Birdman "daddy" and Birdman called him "son." Lil Wayne debuted his album with the company when he was 16.
