Actor Jon Bernthal of "The Walking Dead" was able to sell his storybook cottage in Venice for $1.95 million, an increase from the $1.012 million investment he and his wife Erin Angle made in 2010. Listed only in May, Bernthal got $55,000 over his asking price of $1.895 million, LA Times reports.
The quaint and whimsical English home on a 1,874-square-foot property includes four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The nearly nine-decade-old home has retained its original hardwood floors and also features an elegant curved staircase, a breakfast nook and a wood-burning fireplace. Its French doors open to a covered patio and a fire pit in a vibrant landscaping.
Tami Pardee of Pardee Properties was the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service. Mark Andrew Smith of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage represented the buyer, the report said.
Bernthal, 38, has become a household name for his role as Shane Walsh, Rick Grimes' best friend and former partner in the television series "Walking Dead." His role gained him a nomination for Breakout Performer (Male) in the Scream Awards in 2011.
He has also appeared in the TV series "Mob City" and in the Netflix original series "Daredevil" as the Punisher. Among his film credits is "The Wolf of Wall Street" (2013) and "Fury" (2014). He is set to star in "Sicario," which is scheduled for release in September.
"In Mexico, Sicario means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent (Emily Blunt) is enlisted by an elite government task force official (Josh Brolin) to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past (Benicio Del Toro), the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive," reads a synopsis of the film posted on iTunes.
