In a previous article from MTV, TV static can be seen in the official website. Then, a breaking news bar flashes with white and yellow broken hearts that are held together by a safety pin. The news flash can be seen around the world and even in The Colosseum, Times Square and even to the Moon.
Fans had different interpretations regarding the symbol. Some said that it can be an album cover, a title for their new song, or simply world domination. One Twitter user said, "I am actually so excited it's not even funny! PLEASE HURRY UP AND TELL US!!! #5ONTHEWALL #safetypin @5SOS."
When the clock dropped to zero, there was a 20-minute video of Luke and Calum playing video games, as reported by MTV. The article added that half an hour later, a graffiti artist appeared creating a mural in a bare brick wall using black and white paint. The fans figured out the man is Luke Hemming and the singer changed his avatar to the single art cover.
One Twitter user posted a photo of the countdown with the caption, "100% of the fandom right now #5ONTHEWALL."
Finally, the band made an announcement that they will release a new song entitled, "She's Kinda Hot." One Twitter user expressed her dismay on Twitter and said, "why can't i just like a band who comes online and tells us they're releasing a new single ugh #5ONTHEWALL."
In the meantime, 5SOSVEVO released two videos in Youtube. One video has a title of "5 Seconds Of Summer - She's Kinda Hot ( Official New Song 2015)" and fans expressed their disappointment on the video because they can't hear anything. One user joked, "I dont wanna listen to this yet omg."
This happened to the second video released by 5SOSVEVO entitled "5 Seconds Of Summer - She's Kinda Hot (Official Audio)." The fans became disappointed on the band. One user commented, "Wow boys... Wow... You have reached a new level of ridiculousness... I disown you. Also I kidnapped Ketchup." Another user said, "YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO RICKROLL BUT YOU MISSED IT."
Until now, there are no reports on when the new song will be released.
