Huawei Nexus Phone Update: New Specs and AnTuTu Benchmark Leaked

Rumor has it that search engine giant Google will reportedly launch two Nexus smartphones for 2015. The 2015 Nexus smartphone, as rumors suggest, will be manufactured by LG while the second one will be produced by Huawei. The Huawei Nexus smartphone is said to be in the works as apparently revealed by a popular leakster Evan Blass, iDigitalTimes reported on Wednesday.

"Huawei Nexus sounds impressive so far: 5.7" QHD w/ metal body, SD820 SoC, fingerprint reader. Ships Q4," a Twitter message posted by Evan Blass on Wednesday reads.

Besides the specs mentioned in the tweet, according to iDigitalTimes, the rumored Huawei Nexus phone will also feature a 3,500mAh battery, which offers longer battery life, as well as a new classy metal design with a fingerprint reader technology. If Blass' info is to be believed, the Huawei Nexus smartphone will be launched during the fourth quarter of 2015.

According to the same report, an AnTuTu benchmark test is also believed to have been conducted for the rumored Nexus phone. The result apparently showed that it has superior performance compared to the Meizu MX4, Galaxy Note 4, Zenfone 3 and other phones. However, the report noted that the benchmark refers to the device tested as Nexus 5 2015, which is apparently different from Huawei Nexus.

According to International Business Times, the Nexus Angler, a code name for Huawei Nexus, was a strategic business move of Google to expand its services particularly through its Android app store in the China territory. Huawei eportedly wanted to solidify its brand and make it popular in markets where it has low popularity. With this, it could be a "win-win" situation for both companies as Google attempts to amplify its presence in China after it suffered a damaging blow because of Google's services that reportedly had security issues.
