'Galaxy A8' Specs, Price, News: The Thinnest Phone Ever Made by Samsung Features Fingerprint Tech

Over the years, Samsung never fails to provide its consumers w/ stylish smart phones. Currently, the company is introducing to us the slimmest phone it has ever created. The Galaxy A8 only measures 5.9 mm thick. This phone is the latest of the A series, a line of smart phones that has a slim and metal design. The previous phone this series has launched is the Galaxy A7. It has a thickness of 6.3 mm. To picture out the thickness size of the A8, imagine the thickness of the iphone 6, then reduce it by 0.4 mm. If you own a Samsung S6, reduce its thickness by 1.2 mm. That's how slim the A8 is.

Although we already know that Samsung can compete quite well when it comes to high technology specifications, the A8 model seem to have prioritized look over features. As to the specs of the A8, it is practically average. It has a 1080p display and 2GB ram. It has a 16 MP back camera and a 5 MP secondary camera. However, it does come with the LTE and fingerprint technology, which can compete with other new smartphones such as the latest iPhones. Like many Android phones, the A8 is a dual sim smartphone. It runs on Android OS v5.1 (Lollipop) and it uses a 3050mAh Li-Ion battery.

It was announced this July 2015 and is expected to be released this same year as well. It would be sold at around $515, a bit pricey, but may be worth it. You can buy it for its looks, or you can go for the previous Samsung models that aren't as slim but can serve the same purpose without being too expensive. The Samsung Galaxy A8 comes in different colors. It would be available in white, black, and gold.
