San Diego recently saw the successful turnout at the 2015 Comic Con International. And while fans are still bursting with excitement over news of their favorite superhero films, here comes a list of highly anticipated movies and the best of Comic Con. Also, included is a quick look at the new romantic film that will feature the story of the Obamas' first date.
For the past years, "Star Wars" has always been a crowd favorite and this year is no different. Although not a lot of information was divulged during the space epic's Comic Con panel, states Kansas City Star, it was still a memorable event. Fans were thrilled to see cast members Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford at the event. "Star Wars" fanatics also enjoyed the behind-the-scenes clip that director J.J. Abrams presented. What made this event even more memorable was the surprise outdoor concert which featured a San Diego Symphony concert of John Williams' music. The 6,500 fans were also given free lightsabers to celebrate the event.
Another Comic Con hit was the "Deadpool" trailer presented by Ryan Reynolds. Entertainment Weekly included this film in their "Top Five Movies that won Comic Con." The movie's panel received overwhelming support from fans and even garnered a standing ovation and calls to run the trailer again. "Deadpool" is scheduled for a February 2016 release.
And who could forget the dramatic entrance and introduction of the "Hunger Games" team during last week's Comic Con. The Kansas City Star report recounted the lively banter between cast members Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth. The final installment to the movie franchise, "Mockingjay-Part 2," will hit movie screens this November.
Lastly, ever wondered how President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama spent their first date? Wonder no more since this romantic and memorable event is now a movie. Stars Parker Sawyers and Tika Sumpter will portray the First Couple, reports the Guardian. The film titled "Southside With You" will feature the couple's first date which happened in 1989. The date involves a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago and a first kiss outside an ice cream parlor.
A lot of movie updates were released last week, which includes "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and the "X-Men: Apocalypse." All these updates and Comic Con treats certainly made movie fans excited for the release of their favorite upcoming films.
