The NBA buzz is on! This only means that basketball fanatics keep their eyes open as to which player gets traded to who. As for the Spurs, they have gained LaMarcus Aldridge on their team, fair and square.
Aldridge is probably one of the most sought after players in free agency this summer. Even though many teams tried to recruit him, he chose to go with Spurs. Suns and Lakers tried their luck as well, but to no avail. According to a source, Aldridge signed with Spurs with an $80million, four year contract. Aldridge says that he is very happy with the decision that he made. He states that he is excited to be coming home to Texas and be close to his family once again. Aldridge spent nine seasons in NBA with the Blazers and he is the only player who has averaged at least twenty three points and ten rebounds in the last two seasons.
Now that Aldridge finally joins the Spurs, the team definitely became one of the top favorite teams this season. Different things can happen every season and you never know which team would come out on top. However, the Spurs has proven their worth in NBA by winning around 50 games in 18 years.
Along with Aldridge, Tim Duncan will also join Spurs this season. According to a source, Manu Ginobili on the other hand, will also come back together with Duncan. Spurs traded their big man Splitter to the Hawks, probably to give financial space for Aldridge. And based on Aldridge's background, it seems like the team made a good decision to take him with them.
Right now, it is quite clear that the San Antonio Spurs aims to land a spot in the NBA Finals just like what they did last 2013 and 2014. They have clearly thought things over which is why they have agreed to invest with LaMarcus Aldridge this season.
