There are rumors circulating that Caitlyn Jenner might join the reality show "Dancing with the Stars" Season 21. However, it was already confirmed that the athlete and reality star won't be joining the show.
According to Venture Capital Post, the 65-year-old declined the offer by the show's producers. It was also reported that various dancing professionals were looking forward to work with Jenner. Cheryl Burke expressed earlier that she wanted to compete with Jenner in the show and even suggested who should be her partner. She also added that it will be a great opportunity for the former Olympian to showcase her dancing skills. Despite this, the "Dancing with the Stars" production is still positive that the reality star will still be featured as a guest in the show.
Master Herald reported that Jenner's publicist said in an interview that she is not interested in participating in the said show. However, if she changes her mind, she will still be welcomed as it was reported that there are still a couple of slots to be filled. If Jenner eventually agrees to appear in the show, she will be the first transgender to join the ABC show.
The rumors reportedly began when Derek Hough made a statement that he may return for Season 21 as Jenner's dancing partner. The Mirrorball trophy winner Hough stated that he said that he would love to dance with her.
Despite this issue, "Dancing with the Stars" received numerous nominations for the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards in several categories. The nominations include Outstanding Hairstyling for a Multi-Camera Series or Special, Lighting Direction for a Variety Series, Outstanding Makeup for a Multi-Camera Series or Special (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Lighting Design and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork and Video Control for a Series.
ABC confirmed that the show will still be hosted by Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews.
