Fan of "Simpsons" and beer lovers out there will be amused to know that the famous "Duff Beer" might just be available on the market soon but not quite yet for now.
Duff Beer (Premium Lager) famous from the Cartoon Series "The Simpsons" which was a favorite drink of Homer will be officially released as an actual licensed Duff Beer announced by 21st Century Fox. The beer will only be released in Chile for the meantime and to soon be released on South America and Europe by early next year as published by The Wall Street Journal.
"I think there's potential to have Duff everywhere in the world," said Jeffrey Godsick, president of the media company's consumer products division from the article of The Wall Street Journal. "It's a premium lager," he said. "It's got a very good balance of flavor and refreshment to it. It's fairly deep golden in color. It's got a hint of fruit to it. It's got a caramel aromatic to it."
And with regards to the Duff brand, no Simpson's character will be associated with the beer as Godsick also said that, "It's a completely stand-alone brand...you will not see any characters from the show involved in the marketing in any way."
According to the The Rollingstone, the recipe for Duff was made by British brewmaster Paul Farnworth, it was noted that it will be a 'premium lager' with a 'caramel aromatic.'
It was said that the beer was actually inspired by the Guns N' Roses' bassist Duff McKagan, The show's producers even inquired permission from McKagan in using his name for the beer. He told The Independent, "I knew nothing about branding yourself then or the royalties of it. I just thought cool, they wanna use my name and boom, The Simpsons was born. Yeah, if I had a nickel for every time... but it's fine."
Duff Beer appeared in many series of the cartoons "The Simpsons," like episode six of the 24th season of Simpsons. The beer even has so many different types and a garden named after it on the series.
Just thinking about the release of the Duff Beer made us hope also that someday a replica of Moe's Tavern with Homer and his drink buddies in it will just be so awesome.
