The 2012 animated fantasy movie "Hotel Transylvannia" is now on the developing stage by Sony Pictures to be released as a TV Series. According to "The Hollywood Reporter," Nelvana Studios is a Canadian Animation company and they were asked by Sony Pictures to produce it as an animated TV show. It will focus primarily on Mavis, Dracula's teenage daughter and her circle of friends. It might be released early 2017.
According to The Wrap, Rick Mischel, executive producer at Sony Pictures Animation said "Corus Entertainment's Nelvana is a perfect creative partner and we look forward to sharing more Hotel Transylvania monster laughs with fans of all ages."
Also according to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony pictures Animation President Kristine Belson said, "Audiences have embraced the world and characters of Hotel Transylvania, so we are thrilled to be partnering with Nelvana to take them on new adventures, expanding on the teenage years of Mavis and her friends at the world-famous monster five-star resort!"
Voice casting for Mavis for the TV series is yet to be announced. In the previous film, Selena Gomez voiced over the character. Well, who can get this voice over character? Let's just wait for updates on this.
The executive producers for the said series are Sony's Rick Mischel and Nelvana's Colin Bohm and Irene Weibel.
According to The Wrap, Sony Pictures Television will be distributing the TV Series in the US while Nelvana Enterprises will be the one distributing it outside of US.
"Hotel Transylvannia 2" centers on the story that Dracula wants to stop his daughter for plans of moving out by proving to her that his grandson is a vampire and to prove that, he comes in the weirdest, chaotic training to teach the little boy in becoming one. The movie is also famous for Dracula being voiced by Adam Sandler. The sequel of "Hotel Transylvannia" which is "Hotel Transylvannia 2" is scheduled for release on Sept. 25, 2015.
