Before Chris Evans comes back as the mighty "Captain America," he will play a different kind of hero in "Before We Go." According to Coming Soon, the movie is also Evans' directorial debut. The trailer, which was recently released, is reportedly full of little moments from the film.
Evans plays the role of Nick Vaughan and stars alongside Alice Eve, who plays the role of Brooke Dalton. "Before We Go" follows the journey of two strangers who are stuck in New York City for the night.
Evans, a busker who makes a living playing the trumpet around New York, voluntarily helps Eve who gets her purse stolen while catching a train in Grand Central station. Eve is initially resistant to the offer but with no choice, she allows Evans to accompany her through the night. With Evans' superhero instincts, he tries to help Eve live through the night in the city. The relationship then grows from just mere acquaintances to being most trusted confidants.
In an earlier statement this year, Evans said that it is his first time to direct a film and he also expressed his excitement about it. Aside from being the director, Evans is also the film's producer alongside Mark Kassen, McG, Mary Viola, Karen Baldwin, Howard Baldwin and William J. Immerman. Ron Bass, who is one of the executive producers, wrote the screenplay with Jen Smolka, Chris Shafer and Paul Vicknair.
According to Slashfilm, the movie already premiered in Toronto last year. However, the reviews were not that positive. The report says that the film lacks the influence of other similar films like "Before Sunrise." In addition, several reviews described the film as "lukewarm."
Currently, the movie is available on U.S. iTunes and On Demand. "Before We Go" will premiere in the U.S. theaters on September 4.
