According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, episode 8 of "SYTYCD" opened on a high note due to the numerous Emmy nominations the show has received. Cat Deeley was nominated for Reality Host category while Team Stage captain Travis was nominated for the choreographer category.

The Emmy nominations announcement was then followed by the performances, which featured Oskana and Jonathan in their first ever salsa trio, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry. Team Stage also took the stage, with Darion reportedly unable to keep up with the girls and Yorelis out-dancing him as well.

Other performances followed, and then the show then went on to announce the bottom three for each team, which were previously mentioned above. It may be recalled that the show has recently adopted a new voting strategy called the Twitter Save, which allows viewers to save their favorite contestant via Twitter.

In the latest episode, Moises from Team Stage and Neptune from Team Street got to enjoy the benefit of such Twitter Save. Meanwhile, the judges decided to save Derek and Ariana, which left Darion and Lily eliminated from the show.

In related news, TV Line came up with the rankings of the routines for the night and declared Jim and Jaja's hip hop routine the best, followed by Megz, Alexia and Virgil's contemporary dance. Derek and Ariana reportedly gave the worst performance of the night. Individual rankings from each team are also provided in the above link.

"So You Think You Can Dance" returns with episode 9 next Monday, July 27. The upcoming episode will feature the Top 18's performances and also showcase another round of eliminations.
