Rumor has it that crossfighting video game "Tekken X Street Fighter" will be released soon. This is after "Tekken's" producer Katsuhiro Harada claimed that the development of the video game has been progressing according to plans and stressed that the new title is nearing its release date, a report from Master Herald stated on Monday.
In the report, Harada disclosed that the company has already lined up the official characters for the "Tekken X Street Fighter" video game. Harada claimed that the development of the video game is ahead of its schedule as the company's main assets have been prepared as well.
Harada explained that the game is already taking shape. He also cited that the game's polygon models, moves, systems and other gaming elements for character models are on the right track but acknowledged that there a lot more to implement.
According to a related report from Gamespot, "Tekken X Street Fighter" was reportedly announced five years ago in the San Diego Comic-Con 2010. After the announcement, there has been few or limited details given to the public about the video game. Because of this, speculations that the video game was cancelled surfaced, but they have been vehemently denied by Harada.
"That's not true! I've been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we're at a pretty far stage into its development," said Harada as quoted in the same report.
According to the report, Harada has been reportedly busy as he was working on other game titles such as the "Tekken 7" and "Pokken Tournament." The report emphasized that due to Harada's work overload, his attention was divided and apparently had to set aside "Tekken X Street Fighter."
"It's still in development, and it is moving forward, but that's on the development side. So obviously, with all of the products, there's that special timing that we need for that to have its own spotlight. So on the marketing side, it's a special situation, but we can say that it hasn't been cancelled, so please relax," reads Harada's statement last year on the same issue as quoted in Gamespot's report.
