'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Spoilers: Jo & Alex's Relationship To End?

One couple on "Grey's Anatomy" will reportedly end their relationship in the upcoming 12th season of the hit ABC series. According to Inquisitr, there is a chance that Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex (Justin Chambers) relationship will come to an end in Season 12 because they are the only couple who have not gone through a major obstacle in their relationship.

In Season 11, Jo and Alex even decided to move in together to signify the next level of their relationship. However, this decision didn't necessarily come easy for them because at one point, Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) relationship with Alex even got in the way.

Luddington recently spoke with TV Line to talk about her character's relationship with Alex and revealed that she is also worried that their relationship will come to an end this season. Luddington understands how things may change the minute series creator Shonda Rhimes decides that the characters should already part ways.

However, as of late, nothing has been cast in stone yet. Until today, the only couple who has officially called it quits is Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Callie (Sara Ramirez). April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) relationship may also end in Season 12 and Meredith's marriage ended after Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) shockingly passed away last season.

Meanwhile, the death of Derek and the end of some relationships on "Grey's Anatomy" only opened doors for other characters to be introduced on the show. There are rumors that Martin Henderson has been tapped to play the role of a doctor in place of Dempsey.

There are also speculations that actor Giacomo Gianniotti, who will be playing the role of Dr. Andrew de Luca, could serve as the official replacement of Dempsey's character Derek on the show.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 also stars Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd and more. The series is set to premiere on ABC this coming September 24 at 8 p.m. ET.
