'Fifty Shades Darker' Movie Cast News & Spoilers: Charlize Theron Confirmed To Play Mrs. Robinson?

"Fifty Shades Darker" could potentially see Charlize Theron as the controversial Mrs. Robinson. According to Venture Capital Post, rumors suggesting Theron will be playing the role is almost confirmed because Universal Pictures believe she's the only actress who could give justice to the character.

In the books written by E.L. James, Mrs. Robinson was dubbed as the woman who introduced Christian Grey to the world of BDSM while he was still a young boy. In the film "Fifty Shades Darker," it has been confirmed that Mrs. Robinson and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) will be introduced to one another. However, Anastasia will have a heavy heart in dealing with Mrs. Robinson because she's fully aware that she was the one responsible for Christian's (Jamie Dornan) transformation.

Meanwhile, according to Inquisitr, Mrs. Robinson's return to the life of Christian will be strictly professional. However, this does not mean that she will not directly come in between him and his girlfriend Anastasia.

In other news, "Fifty Shades Darker" is still lacking its director and some characters have not yet been filled. This has led Universal Pictures to decide to move the release of the film in the United States from the original 2016 schedule to 2017.

Sam Taylor-Johnson, who previously directed "Fifty Shades of Grey," confirmed that she will no longer return to the franchise because of the feud she had with James. At that time, the director said that she and James had conflicts in terms of the direction of the movie.

Despite all of this, the filming for "Fifty Shades Darker" will officially begin in January 2016, as confirmed by Johnson herself. According to the actress, she's already looking forward to working on the second film because it will be less raunchier but definitely darker compared to "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"Fifty Shades Darker" will hit theaters in the United States this coming Feb. 10, 2017.
