"Scandal" star Guillermo Diaz, who plays the role of Huck, recently confirmed his return to the series via an Instagram post. However, this had led fans to speculate that he could officially turn his back on Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington).
In a previous interview with TV Guide, Diaz said that Huck will be embracing his dark side once again in the upcoming fifth season of the hit ABC series. In Season 4, Huck teamed up with Rowan Pope (Joe Morton), Olivia's father and worst enemy.
"I think part of him wants to die. I think part of him is just done. I feel like he's just sick and tired of being so hurt and so broke and so confused. The other part of him wants to be with his family, but I think part of him wants to die and he just wants Quinn to pull the trigger because it'd make it all so much easier," he said at that time.
Meanwhile, Diaz also dished on the possibility of Huck and Rowan creating an alliance to try and take down Olivia. "That is definitely an interesting possibility. If Olivia finds out and if he feels like there's nothing left for him there, I can see him turning to Rowan and embracing that dark side to him," he said.
In Season 4, Huck killed several jury members to help keep Rowand's Command team out of prison. This, of course, will hurt Olivia tremendously, considering she took in Huck at the time when he was so broken, according to Fashion N Style.
As of late, it is unclear which side Huck will choose. With Olivia, he can find safety and comfort, but with Rowan he could potentially find power.
"Scandal" Season 5 will premiere on ABC this coming September 24 at 9 p.m. ET.
