A teacher in Florida becomes an inspirational figure to teachers everywhere with his recent home purchase.
High school math teacher turned entrepreneur, Mark Pentecost, just purchased Little Bokeelia Island for the price of $14.5 million off the southwest cost of the State of Florida. The purchase was considered a record for a residential property sale in southwestern Florida. The 104-acre private property comes with a 6,486-square-foot Spanish-style villa with 4 bedrooms and 5 baths, a tennis court, and a pool with lagoon. It also has a bungalows in mini-village for guests. The private islands boasts of its ports and beaches.
Pentecost is the founder and CEO of the company called It Works. He recalls how he and his wife used to think that for most people, a teacher must by living a dream by just daydreaming about running away to a private island. Now he really is living what seems to be only a dream for most people. He says that he and his wife say, ""We high-five each other a lot and say, 'I don't know how we got here, but we're not giving it back!'" He also said that," "We've been really blessed."
He and his wife are another examples of a rags-to-riches story. His story began when he was teaching math in the 1990s when all he wanted was to make an extra couple hundred bucks a month. After a couple of years of wild success in direct sales he eventually left his teaching career to lauch It Works in 2001 to sell slimming body wraps that people can wear under their clothes. Eventually, It Works has expanded to sell skincare and nutrition products.
"Still, "who would have thought that we could own an island?" The idea seemed impossible until he saw Little Bokeelia on an episode of AWE TV's "Private Islands."
