John Kasich Joins 2016 US Presidential Race

"I have the experience and the testing-the testing which shapes you and prepares you for the most important job in the world," Mr. Kasich said, according to a report on wsj.com.

He further added, "And I believe I know how to work and help restore this great United States. And I have to tell you, it's a daunting challenge."

This was John Kasich's statement during his Ohio State University speech to assure doubters of his chance at winning the 2016 US Presidential Election. He also added being prepared and well-abled to restore the country back to its greatness. Mr. Kasich further expressed his sentiments with a proposed expansion of Medicaid efforts and empathized with the struggles of the less fortunate, as reported in the same article from wsj.com.

Though not as popular as his contemporaries Trump or Bush, the 18-year congressman and two-termed Ohio state governor is adamant at proving his worth in winning the election, according to a report from motherjones.com. He is said to have pondered on the presidential bid for a while now, and thinks this time is the right time to do it.

Two big issues that Kasich has been keen to comment on and expresses his support included same-sex marriage and immigration reforms. He is amenable to Obama's Immigration Plan - a move that will temporarily offer deportation protection to about 5 million immigrants. He also stayed true on the same-sex marriage issue when he recently attended a July 3rd gay wedding.

A huge fan of financial stability, Balanced Budget Forever is a non-profit organization that Kasich also supports, and he has remained in the limelight to improve Ohio's employment rate. As of late last year, the state's unemployment rate has gone down from a 9.6 percent, according to a report from cleveland.com, even though critics were quick enough to comment with Kasich's claim on helping the state's dwindling economy.

Having a friendlier business environment is leading to a more opened impression on businesses that acknowledges Ohio's potential for further economic growth, Kasich's optimism continues to shine through.
