'X-Files' Reboot Cast, Premiere Date: 'The Flash' & 'Six Feet Under Stars Joins As New Agents

Before the "X-Files" comes back for its reboot in January, the show has added two new cast members. Entertainment Weekly reported that Robbie Amell from "The Flash" and Lauren Ambrose from "Six Feet Under" will appear in the reboot of the show as Agents Miller and Einstein, respectively. However, Fox confirmed that the two actors will only be guest stars and will appear in one episode.

Variety reported that the character descriptions were a little scarce. According to the website, Agent Einstein was described as sharp and confident while Agent Miller is described as smart and smooth.

Despite the actors' similarities with the original agents, the show slammed rumors that they will play as the younger versions of stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. Sources revealed that the actors will appear in the present day episodes.

Just recently, "Silicon Valley" actor Kumail Nanjiani was also cast as a guest star in the Fox sci-fi revival. The actor is a self-proclaimed "X-Files" fan and he couldn't help but tweet some of the pictures from the set.

Reports said that the comedian was startruck upon meeting the show's main stars. He even tweeted a picture of the set with the caption: "I had been trying to stay calm and approach it like any other job. And then I freaked out as soon as I saw this."

It was back in March when Fox confirmed that the "X-Files" will return as a limited six-episode series after 13 years since the show ended after a nine-season run. Creator Chris Carter stated in a statement that he thinks of the 13 years as a commercial break. He also said that now that the world is much stranger, this will be the perfect time to release the reboot.

"X-Files" reboot is set to premiere on January 24, 2016 on Fox.
