Game developer Konami on Tuesday released new information about the multiplayer component of "Metal Gear Solid 5: the Phantom Pain," which was reportedly tagged as "Metal Gear Online 3." The new details were released via a Question and Answer Session earlier this week where fans got to directly ask the game developer, a report from Gamespot said.
In the said article, Konami reportedly answered players' inquiries if a customization will be possible in the "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" video game. The game developer specifically noted the various ways that players will be able to change the patterns and colors of the gears to suit a particular style. The report also noted that the gear will have assorted but distinct appearances when it comes to different multiplayer classes.
Below are some of the details revealed by Konami earlier this week via Twitter, as cited from the Gamespot report.
---"Gear doesn't affect player stats.
---Patterns cannot be designed by the player, but there are several to choose from.
---There aren't 'presets' for gear--there are categories for different body parts, such as specific gear for legs, arms, etc.
----There is no Metal Gear Solid 4 gear in the game.
----Some items are class specific.
----You cannot unlock gear via MGS V's single-player mode."
---Gear cannot be changed within matches.
A similar report from Gamerant revealed that in "Metal Gear Solid 5: the Phantom Pain" campaign, players will likely be treated as a cooperative multiplayer component of the game. The report pointed out that the new feature will eventually allow gamers to use different skins while playing Ocelot, Snake, and other generic mercenaries in the game.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that the current-gen versions of the video game supports up to 16 players in stealth-oriented multiplayer battles. The video game will be launched on September 15 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC gaming platforms.
