Telecommunications company AT&T announced on Tuesday that it will offer the Microsoft Surface 3 tablet with 4G LTE in the United States starting on July 24. The first carrier to offer the tablet, AT&T has designed a specific installment plan which provides consumers flexibility, a report from Thurrot said.
According to the report, AT&T Tablet Installment's plan will allow consumers to get the Microsoft Surface 3 4G LTE for $0 down and $30 per month. The said plan requires a 20-month 0% APR installment agreement and "well-qualified credit with the full tax payment due at sale."
The company also said that for a limited time, consumers can buy the tablet for only $399.99 with a Lumia smartphone bought on AT&T Next on a two-year contract. The Surface 3 and Lumia's wireless service must be activated, as pointed out by the company.
"The Surface 3 is light and thin, so you can easily take it with you on-the-go and stay connected on the nation's most reliable 4G LTE network. With the integrated, three-position Kickstand, the ability to run desktop software and touch apps side-by-side, and a full-size USB 3.0 port, Surface 3 is a balanced mix of innovation and practicality. You'll also be able to upgrade to Windows 10 once the new operating system is available," said AT&T in its consumer blog.
Microsoft Surface 3 will be powered by new quad-core Intel Atom x7 processors which reportedly help users to switch between apps easily and quickly. In terms of its storage capacity, the device was reported to have a 64 GB storage for a huge volume of songs, pictures and movies.
The device is pre-installed with a Microsoft Office Productivity Program, which includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. It also has an extra 1 TB of OneDrive intended for cloud storage with an annual subscription of Office 365 Personal.
Surface 3 comes with a 7485 mAh battery which can power the device from eight and half hours without charging. Owners can also use the Surface pen for note-taking, but the accessory will be sold separately.
