'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Spoilers: First Half Of Series Will Feature Flashbacks

The sixth season of "The Walking Dead" will feature a series of flashbacks, according to series producer Scott Gimple. In an interview at the San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month, Gimple confirmed that he's currently working on an entire episode that will feature a flashback. With this, fans are hopeful that the flashback will explore the back story of Enid (Katelyn Nacon), Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge), Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) and Alexandria.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gimple also revealed that the first half of "The Walking Dead" Season 6 will serve as a prequel to some of the things that will happen during the second half of the season.

"I think there's a way that Robert did some of the story that we're reaching that had a real past to it, where people are referring to some things in the past in the comic. And we're able to portray some of that back story in some ways that you didn't get to see in the comic," he said.

Meanwhile, some new characters will also be introduced in the upcoming sixth installment of the hit AMC series. According to Digital Spy, "The Walking Dead" will now include the comic book character Heath, which will be played by Corey Hawkins.

"We have seen Heath on the Internet when we announced it. Corey Hawkins is playing him, and he's terrific and I'm so excited to see him bring Heath to life. It's been fun and he dove in with both feet. He's tough and sceptical when the cameras are rolling, and when they're off, he's just like a goofy man," Gimple said.

The series showrunner also revealed how Hawkins is excited to be part of "The Walking Dead." Gimple added that more new characters will be unveiled as the sixth season of the series progresses.

"The Walking Dead" Season 6 will premiere on ABC this coming October 11.
