After almost a month after their split, reports are circulating that Kourtney Kardashian is now meeting with a lawyer to have sole custody of her children with Scott Disick. According to US Magazine, Kardashian met with Hollywood's top divorce attorney, Laura Wasser, to talk about the legalities of having sole custody of their children.
Although Kardashian and Disick are not married, they have three children: Mason, 5, Penelope, 3 and Reign, 7 months. Sources of the magazine say that Kardashian is seeking sole custody to protect their children from Disick's unhealthy behavior.
Disick is known to have problems with alcohol, drugs and excessive partying. According to Popcrush, Disick's friends do not think that the 32-year-old model and reality star will fight Kardashian in the custody battle since he does not act like a dad at all.
Meanwhile, Wasser is no stranger to the Kardashian family as she was there to support Kim Kardashian back in 2003 when she was working finalizing her separation with ex-husband Kris Humphries. Wasser was also the one who filed the divorce papers for Khloe Kardashian after her breakup with ex-husband Lamar Odom.
Hollywood Life recently reported that Disick has returned to Los Angeles and had an intense first meeting with Kourtney after their 4th of July break-up. Sources say that the meeting was emotional and it may have given Disick some perspective on his life. Sources also revealed that Disick thinks it is best that the children stay with Kourtney until he gets his life back together.
An inside source of the website also revealed that although Disick loves his children very much, he realized that he is in no condition to have custody of their children. He also believes that it is the right decision at the moment and he also reportedly added that he wants to work on himself to give his children the father that they deserve.
Disick also supposedly told Kourtney that by the time he becomes settled, he would want to discuss custody arrangements again. The inside source added that it was a painful decision which Disick thinks is just right for his children.
