Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Release Date & News: ‘S’ Pen Photo Reveals New & Advanced Design Features

Rumor has it that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will have a major update to its S-Pen stylus. The S-Pen stylus, as a new rumor suggests, has an auto-eject or press-to-release feature. Aside from this, there are also design upgrades to the device, a report from Tech Times said on Tuesday.

According to the report, a series of photos reportedly leaked on Weibo, a China-based social networking website, which show a Samsung-branded S-Pen. The leaked photos were also posted on Twitter, which were said to be Samsung Galaxy Note 5's S-Pen.

The report said that the S-Pen has a thinner and more streamlined point compared to the S-Pen of Samsung Galaxy Note 4. A closer look at the leaked S-Pen photo reportedly suggests that the S-Pen has a press-to-release feature because of its "extended" and "pushed-down" look.

It can be recalled that Patently Mobile earlier reported that Samsung has applied for a patent for its Galaxy Note device with an automatically ejectable input touch pen system. The S-Pen will be released only via a special voice command or gesture. Samsung claimed that its upgraded stylus pen in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is "unique" from the usual manual injection because of its "shape gesture." The report indicated that the patent application was published by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

"Since it is possible to automatically eject the touch pen only with a simple manipulation and/or command, it is easy to manipulate the electronic device with one hand, and since a separate locking device for confining the touch pen isn't needed, it is possible to enhance the usage convenience of the electronic device," Samsung said as quoted by the same website.

According to Tech Times, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be announced on August 12 along with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The new and improved S-Pen stylus will reportedly allow mobile users to quickly use and interact with their device.
