Def Leppard Guitarist Vivian Campbell Doesn't Want Donald Trump to Introduce the Band in the Upcoming Summer Tour

CNN has recently reported that according to Iowa Trump campaign aides the Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump is set to introduce the 80s metal bank Def Leppard at the Iowa State Fair on August 15. The Iowa State Fair is going to be the first-in-the-nation assembly state's signature summer affair and it is a must for presidential candidates to attend the said event. The event will take place at the State Fair Grandstand on the fairgrounds in Des Moines and aside from Def Leppard, the Bands Styx and Tesla will also be featured. When Def Leppard guitarist, Vivian Campbell heard about it he wrote on his Facebook page, "I really, really, really hope that there's no truth to this rumour. Def Leppard have never been a political band, and if we were, I for one wouldn't be associating my name with this clown"/ The post included a link to the CNN page, https://edition.cnn.com/2015/07/17/politics/donald-trump-iowa-state-fair-def-leppard/

A month ago, on June 21, 2015, Campbell has told his fans that his cancer has returned. On his Facebook page he said, ""I'm saddened by the fact that my cancer has returned. However, I'm beyond consolation that its return will prevent me from being able to do my job for a while. I'm still working on a schedule of treatment with my doctors, but I will see you all very soon".

Campbell was asked to join Def Leppard in 1992 after Steve Clark's tragic death in 1991. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in June 2013. Steve Brown, Trixter guitarist, previously filled his place when his cancer treatments forced him to miss some of the Def Leppard shows. Brown is said to serve as his temporary replacement following the announcement. But in the later days he said that he doesn't need radiation treatment and will be joining his bandmates on the summer tour.
