Ronda Rousey Talks About Her Mayweather Remark During the ESPY Awards Ceremony

Ronda Rousey, the undefeated MMA fighter, has received an ESPY award for being Best Female Athlete during the ESPY Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles on July 15, 2015. She has also snatched the Best Fighter award from Floyd Mayweather on the same night.

There was a time when the famous boxer had said that he had no idea who Ronda Rousey was and had mistaken her for a man. Well he definitely should who she is by now. On the ESPY red carpet, Rousey made a direct jab at Mayweather as she accepted the award, pointing at his history of domestic violence. She said on stage, "I wonder how Floyd feels being beaten by a woman for once. I'd like to see you pretend to not know who I am now." She stared smiling at the camera after saying that.

She really meant what she said. The female athlete also said that she had patiently waited more than a year for a perfect moment to take her revenge at the boxer for that "humiliating" remark after he was asked about the UFC champion and if he could beat Rousey in a fight.

On the other hand, she said after accepting the reward for Best Female Athlete "I really want to thank all the women that are nominees and all the women here for being the change you want to see in the world." She also added, "Mostly, I want to thank my mom, who, you did so much and put up with so much for me to get here, and I really appreciate it."

Rousey's next fight will be on August 1 and she will be going against Bethe Correia in her home country of Brazil in UFC 190. In the mean time, Mayweather is in the process of selecting his potential opponents for a September 12 match, which, could be his last in the boxing ring.
