Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj stirred social media just last week after the MTV Video Music Awards nominations was made. It was when Minaj's tweet caught Swift's attention leaving her offended with Minaj's twitter post. It was said that the feud started when Minaj wasn't nominated in the "Best Video" category in which Swift was part. Minaj later on made an effort to clear things out on her Instagram post stating that "she feels black woman don't get credit for contributions on pop culture.
The Anaconda singer then twitted:
" If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year @NICKIMINAJ "
Swift then replied:
@taylorswift13 "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot. @NICKIMINAJ
After these series of tweets, Katy Perry then seemingly entered the feud via one of her tweets stating:
@katyperry "Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman,"
This tweet caught their followers attention causing a stir in social media once again as posted on the guardian's article. She then made a follow up tweet stating:
@katyperry the real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/714-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1... @MTV
Though Swift didn't further comment on the tweet, Minaj has been spending much time on Twitter last Wednesday promoting articles defending her views. Both musicians declined Billboard's request for comments regarding the issue.
Swift and Perry have been on a feud for quote sometime and Taylor Swift's Bad Blood video stirred up controversies once again after it was said to be about their duel. Both have shared the same romantic interest, John Mayer whom Katy is currently dating, and Swift famously dated way back Fall of 2009.
