After "Neighbors" surprisingly became a hit, Seth Rogen and Zac Efron will be coming back for the sequel, and this time Chloe Moretz will be joining them. According to Variety, Chloe Moretz is now in negotiations for her appearance in "Neighbors 2." In addition, movie director Nicholas Stoller will also be coming back to work on the sequel. The first film was a surprise hit with an estimated $269 million worldwide earnings.
"Neighbors" revolved around a couple whose lives changed when they declared war on the fraternity that moved next door to their humble home. However, the plot of the sequel and Moretz' role is still unknown as of writing.
According to Hollywood Reporter, most of the cast and crew will be coming back for the sequel including scriptwriters Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O'Brien, who will also act as executive producers along with Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake. Rogen, Efron and Rose Byrne will be reprising their roles from the original film. Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver are set to produce the sequel under Point Grey Pictures.
Moretz is known for her character Hit Girl in the "Kick Ass" franchise. She also starred in the romance movie "If I Stay" and appeared alongside Denzel Washington in "The Equalizer."
The young promising actress will also appear in other movies this year, which include Gillian Flynn's adaptation, "Dark Places," with Charlize Theron, which will premiere in early August. By January, she will join the sci-fi world with the movie, "The 5th Wave." Just recently, she completed filming for Sacha Gervasi's crime drama, "November Criminals.
"Neighbors 2" is said to be released on May 13, 2016 by Universal Pictures. Reports speculate that production and filming will start over the next few months and more casting news will be revealed soon.
