‘Mass Effect 4’ News & Release Date: Game To Be Available in 2016?

Bioware's "Mass Effect 4" is said to be released sometime in 2016. The video game has reportedly kicked off during EA Game's annual briefing at the E3 event. In the said event, a game trailer was shown to the audience with pre-rendered content that apparently revealed new details about the "Mass Effect" video game, a report from Master Herald said on Thursday.

According to Master Herald, the reported video game is expected to feature a multiplayer mode, which will be more polished, as Bioware, the game developer, is doing a massive overhaul of the video game's essential components. A related report from Christian Today said that the video game's announcement trailer revealed several in-game locations, gameplay details and different characters and aliens.

The report pointed out that Bioware was overwhelmed by the success that the franchise achieved, as manifested by the "Mass Effect" fan base. The same report states that Bioware and Electronic Arts revealed that the video game's story will focus on a new protagonist.

"While we aren't ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. You will play a human, male or female, though that's actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You'll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with," Bioware said via a press release posted in its blog.

"We built this trailer in Frostbite, our game engine, and it represents our visual target for the final game. We are thrilled by what we've already been able to achieve in bringing Mass Effect to Frostbite and by putting our entire focus on PC and current gen consoles. With the time remaining in development, we're excited about the possibility to push things even more," Bioware continued.

Meanwhile, Tech Times reported that the video game trailer mentioned a "whole new galaxy." This could be a reference to Andromeda, a galaxy outside the Milky Way. The report also indicated that the "Mass Effect" trilogy has covered most of the galaxies in the universe. It stressed that to make and tell a new story, Bioware needs a new setting for the game.
