When hearing of the Hamptons, the classy, posh, and elegant life comes to mind. However, it might be different for today. According to nypost.com, "An opulent $9.2 million Southampton mansion owned by a real-estate mogul went up in flames Saturday."

Who is this real- estate mogul? According to dbvnews.com, "Records show the home is owned by well-known property investors Lawrence and Marilyn Friedland, who bought the two-story residence in 2004 for $7.5 million."

The expensive home has six bedrooms and features six bathrooms. The property boasts of its grand swimming pool and a half-basketball court. The lawns are well-manicured and well-maintained. The home is 8,300-square feet in size. It is stylish and upgraded to meet the home standard of the Friedlands.

The blaze was just too much. The fire was so huge that it took help from other fire departments. According to nypost.com, "Ten departments across the Hamptons area battled for hours to control the fire at 50 Wyandanch Lane, one of the area's most famous streets."

The property was built in 1999 and has been the home of the real-estate mogul for years. Friendland runs Friedland Properties. He possesses more than 100 properties. Some of his properties are located on the "Gold Coast" strip of Madison Avenue between 57th and 72nd Street as stated in a report by dbvnews.com.

His assets are colossal. He holds the title of the largest landlord of Madison Avenue properties. He also has high profile tenants such as the likes of Polo Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, Dolce & Gabanna and LVMH as stated in a report nypost.com.

The Friedlands have been investing in real estate for many years.
