Madame Shek's Former Property in the New York Market Is Up For Grabs

A part of Madame Chiang Kai Shek's former house rests at Hillcrest, Lattington, Long Island which is now known as the Fieldstone Manor built in 2002.

The house is part of Chinese history as former president Chiang Kai Shek's first lady used to live there for 20 years in 1975. She, then, decided to go forward as she moved to Manhattan in 1998.

Though being split into three portions after being sold to Stillman Organization by Madame herself on 1998, her carriage house, and barn and bamboo garden remained untouched while the Fieldstone Manor is being built on Madame's 12.8- acres-part of former land.

Fieldstone Manor offers luxury living with its home theater, bar and lounge, gym and sauna, heated swimming pool and a par 3 golf hole with elevators running in all floors of the house. The manor's asking price shoots up to $11.8 million due to its state- of- the- art facilities and connection to Chinese history through Madame Chiang Kai Shek. According to its selling broker, Jason Friedman, "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy a property featuring first class new construction while simultaneously purchasing a piece of history that belonged to perhaps one of the most influential and iconic figures in the last century."

The house's previous dip in the market caused to different Chinese people flocking in Long Island from different parts of America. They hoped to buy the former first lady's sofas and other belongings trying to relive the Madame's legacy when Stillman organization had these possessions auctioned after a few weeks of obtaining the property. Also, other Chinese nationals made a crusade outside of the house to remember the former first lady's legacy in Sino- US bilateral relations.

The current owner of the manor, who is an elderly couple, wants to sell Fieldstone manor as part of their retirement.
