Ed Sheeran Now An Actor? The Singer Joins The Cast Of 'Sons of Anarchy' Creators' New Show As An Executioner

Award-winning singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran will be appearing on the small screen in an upcoming show. According to Entertainment Weekly, Sheeran will be displaying his acting skills and showing his dark side in the FX series, "The Bastard Executioner."

Hollywood Reporter states that the six-time Grammy nominee will be part of a series that was created by "Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter. The new show is described as a "blood-soaked medieval epic" about a story of a 14th-century warrior. He will experience some life-changing events when a "divine messenger" asks him to lay down his sword to become an executioner. The show is now currently filming in Sheeran's home country, the United Kingdom.

Reports reveal that the artist will be playing the role of Sir Cormac, who is described as "an ambitious and deadly protégé of a high-ranking church elder." According to Time, Sheeran and Stutter have already worked together when the singer contributed a song to the "Sons of Anarchy" soundtrack. He is also a self-proclaimed "Sons of Anarchy" fan.

This is not the first television deal the singer has done lately. Sheeran also appeared on NBC's "Undateable," which aired earlier this year. He also announced that he will have a live concert special which will air on the same channel this summer.

"The Bastard Executioner" also features "True Blood" star Stephen Moyer and "Sons of Anarchy" star Katey Sagal. The show will also include some newcomers like Lee Jones and Flora Spencer-Longhurst. It was reported that even the series creator Stutter will appear on the show like he appeared on "Sons of Anarchy."

"The Bastard Executioner" will be directed and executively produced by Brian Grazer and Paris Barclay. It is set to air on FX this fall.
