Christos Lazari, 69, a London billionaire property investor, passed away due to cardiac arrest while in his home in London last Monday.
Christos is born in Cyprus and left for London when he's still 16 years old with only £20 in his pocket. He then worked as a dish washer and later took fashion design classes in which he started to have his own women fashion line he called "Drendie Girl." His success continued as his creation managed to get into the windows of retails stores in London and he started to build his real estate portfolio using the profit from his first business.
During one of his interviews before his untimely death, Christos shared that his "father was a builder and I was taught the value of real estate from a very early age." Also, he said that "I felt that the grass was always greener somewhere else, and I was too young to think twice."
Mr. Lazari never forgot his roots that despite of his British citizenship, he frequently visits his home land and his family in Cyprus as well as to aid their country's crisis of cutbacks due to Eurozone strict measures and policies. Christos is also known to be friends with the Cyprus president which friendship started during their school days. He even partly paid for the president's trips so the president can travel using private planes.
Christos Lazari is also included in Forbes World's Billionaires list in 2015 with a net worth of $2.1 billion. These mostly consist of office spaces in London which amounting to almost $2billion as well as a 2.64 million square feet of real estate.After the passing of the real estate giant, his wealth and assets will more likely to stay with his wife and three children who have been his cofounder and the latter have been directors that control their company's success and welfare.
