Ford stepped up to a whole new level of premium quality in the release of its new 7-seater Galaxy.
According to a report by Car Scoops, the 7-seat MPV Galaxy takes clear styling cues from the successful S-Max. The Galaxy also has a new family front-end design with a squarer shape.
The Galaxy also features a unique third row of seats which can be raised from the boot floor "at the touch of a button."
In addition, both the second and third row of seats can be folded flat via a button on the centre console. Its flat floor makes it easier to load large items. The car's flat load space has also been enhanced via an extra 20-litre storage found beneath the boot floor.
Second and third-row passengers will also enjoy the extra 10mm headroom, while rearmost passengers also get their own armrest storage bins and cup holders.
The comfort while retaining lateral stiffness for enhanced steering and handling was also improved, thanks to Ford's integral link rear suspension configuration. The dampers and springs that are installed in the Galaxy offer a continuous control damping which allows the driver to change chassis with the "comfort", "normal" and "sport" modes. The car also comprise an EPAS or an Electronic Power Assisted Steering, Car Scoops news adds.
Powering the new Galaxy will be a 2.0-litre TDCi Biturbo diesel with 210PS and 450Nm of torque from 2,000rpm. The same engine will also be available in a single variable geometry turbocharger form, and offered with 120PS, 150PS and 180PS outputs.
Petrol options include Ford's 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine with 160PS, and a 2.0-litre EcoBoost offering 240PS. The entire Galaxy engine range meets Euro 6 emissions standards and is equipped with smart regenerative charging, auto-start-stop, and active grille shutter.
According to Car Buyer, the Ford Galaxy MPV's price starts from £26,445 to £35,395.
