Avid players who signed up for the "Street Fighter 5' beta have been reportedly annoyed after the video game's server has encountered technical problems resulting to intermittent service and eventually shutdowns, a report from Tech Times said on Monday.
According to the report, game developer Capcom took off the servers on Sunday as the "Street Fighter 5 Beta" has been down on that day because the video game was not able to handle a large number of gamers who attempted to log in the video game.
"The SFV beta will be inaccessible today as our servers are down for maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience caused," reads a Twitter announcement by Capcom on Monday. Capcom reportedly claimed that its company engineers were working to optimize the game servers.
According to Tech Times, Capcom will likely extend the beta of "Street Fighter 5" for six days beyond July 28 as the company pointed out that its game servers will continue to be under maintenance until technical glitches are fixed. The report pointed out that Capcom's server shutdown happened on July 25 after it announced that it will reset the servers to accommodate more players at the onset of the video game's beta testing last week. However, several reports pointed out that players have encountered technical glitches even after Capcom had reset its servers.
"We apologize for the ongoing issues that users have been experiencing with the Street Fighter V beta test," Capcom said at the time. "In order to allow us to fix the issues as quickly as possible, we are going to initiate a period of extended maintenance, during which time the beta will be unavailable to all users," said Capcom as quoted in the same website.
A related report from Dual Shockers noted that the beta testing for the "Street Fighter Beta" should have ended on Tuesday. However, the company announced via social media that it will extend the beta for an indefinite period of time. "For those wondering, we will be extending the BETA period to make up for the issues we've been experiencing," Capcom said.
