Speculations about Bobbi Kristina's hefty $20-million fortune that Whitney Houston left for her abound. Now that she's dead, some people are reportedly wondering who among her relatives will get the money. Several names from the Houston clan came up, but will Bobby Brown also get a part of Bobbi's inheritance?
Late singer Whitney Houston apparently set everything in order regarding her fortune before she passed away. According to her will, when Bobbi Kristina reaches 21, she will get 10 percent of her inheritance, which is about $2 million, and then sixth of the estate when she turns 25 and the rest when she turns 30.
According to People, Houston's will says that in the event Bobbi dies "childless and unmarried" before the age of 30, all the remaining estate goes to the Houstons, particularly Cissy, the late singer's mother, and to her two brothers, Michael and Gary.
"Everyone is going to try to grab (her money), but it's not necessarily up for grabs," Jerry Reisman, a trust and estate law expert said. "And it's a lot of money. Don't forget the royalties coming in (from Houston's music). That estate is never going to end. Neither could the potential litigation arising from this case of mother-daughter tragedy," he explained.
Whitney's mother Cissy, was reportedly the appointed executor of the will. However, when she declined, Marion "Pat" Houston was appointed as the sole administrator of the estate.
Furthermore, Bobbi Kristina's father, Bobby Brown, was originally included in Whitney's will; however, with their divorce eight years ago, he is no longer considered one of the beneficiaries, TMZ reports. Bobby could get some part of the inheritance, but it would take a long litigation process in court, Reisman added.
Meanwhile, Nick Gordon, the man claiming to be Bobbi's husband, has no rights over her $20-million estate unless he will be able to prove in court that he is Bobbi's legal husband, USA Today reports. Bobbi's autopsy will be released weeks before her funeral on an unspecified date in August.
