After the confirmation of Matt Damon for "Bourne 5" movie, more new cast members have been revealed. According to Coming Soon, Damon will be working alongside his fellow Academy Award Winner actor, Tommy Lee Jones.
According to reports, Jones may play the role of a superior officer at CIA. In the previous Bourne installments, the character was played by various actors like Chris Cooper, Brian Cox, and David Strathairn. If this is confirmed, then Jones' character will be the one to lead the hunt for Jason Bourne.
Jones has been recently working on the movie "The Homesman" where he also co-wrote the story that was based on Glendon Swarthout's novel. He is also set to appear in the sci-fi-action movie "Criminal," alongside Gary Oldman, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Costner, Alice Eve and Gal Gadot.
Meanwhile, earlier reports also revealed that "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" director Paul Greengrass will be back to helm the fifth Bourne movie. Although there is little information about the movie's plot, it was confirmed that there will be no crossovers between Damon's character and Jeremy Renner's Aaron Cross. Another star to come back to the movie will be Julia Stiles to reprise her role in the franchise as CIA agent Nicky Parsons.
Screen Rant also reported that Viggo Mortensen was offered the villain role for the film. However, as of writing, there is still no confirmation if he will be signing on to the franchise.
Furthermore, according to Movie Pilot, another new cast member was confirmed to appear in the movie, which is "Ex Machina" and "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." actress, Alicia Vikander. She also played the role of a Russian aristocrat in the movie "Anna Karenina."
It was reported that production of "Bourne 5" will begin a few months from now. The movie is set to be released on July 29, 2016.
