News broke out just days ago that the popular adult social network knows as Ashley Madison has been hacked as per IBT's report. Website users' private information was accessed and was sold on the dark web.
Though only two out of 37 million plus names emerged from the hack; one of which was an American man from Brockton and one was from Mississauga. The Toronto Sun was able to find the one from Mississauga in his two-story brick house enabling them to have an interview to give them an insight on what it was like to be exposed. On his interview, he stated that he only looked around, but never cheated saying:
"sometimes, you're just curious, looking for friends, but then it doesn't really appeal to you"
He did gave out some information regarding his personal life, saying that he's been married for 20 years and has a young child.
He then stated that he joined the Ashley Madison website last 2010, stayed for 2-3 years then deleted his account for $19. He then added:
"l haven't been on the site in a long, long time," along with these he also added "like I said, it is a stupid (website). You go just to see what it is out there. It was pretty much a waste of time to join."
As per Per Thorsheim, a world renowned computer security expert, stated that a lot of people involved with the hack doesn't really cheat on their partners as reported by Mirror.
"People who claimed to have done nothing wrong... were considering suicide because of the attention they received from colleagues, friends and family," he wrote.
"I spent the days before Christmas talking to managers of some of those named on how to handle the situation.
"That Christmas became a nightmare for many based on rumors alone."
