‘Indian Hill Real Estate Case’: Judge Delays The Lawsuit Til 2016; Defendant Misses Proceedings Due To Fear Of Being Locked Up?

Judge Jody Luebbers has decided to delay the Indian Hill real estatecase because the defendant missed the proceedings. Crysta and Dr. Stephen Pleatman's Lawyer Paul Croushore has explained to the judge why the defendant failed to show up in court.

Cincinnati reports the reason why Crysta Pleatman did not attend the proceedings because she was afraid that she would be put to jail.

According to the report, Judge Jody Luebbers who is already serving the court for more than 20 years has not witnessed what the defendant did on Monday.

Defendant Crysta Pleatman missed the first day of the jury trial in a Hamilton County Common Pleas Court civil suit over a $1.2 million Indian Hill real estate deal. She chickened out because she was afraid of being locked up.

"She is in fear - without revealing things I shouldn't reveal - she's afraid she'll be put in jail," Croushore told the press.

On the other hand, Judge Luebbers also expressed her thoughts about the said incident in her courtroom. "This is uncharted territory for me. I have never experienced anything like this before," Luebbers said.

In a separate report of Cincinnati, it says that the reason why Judge Jody Luebbers delayed the trial until 2016 is because "the defendant was not in the area and could not attend the trial" as explained by attorney Paul Croushore.

It was contrary to what was first said by the defendant's attorney who previously said that his client got cold feet and is afraid of being put behind bars.

The next hearing would be on January 2016.

If remembered the case was filed because of breach of contract by Grant Troja. Two years ago, Crysta Pleatman and her husband Dr. Stephen Pleatman were supposed to buy a property but the couple decided to "back out of a contract to buy a home on Pipewell Lane in Indian Hill." Thus, "Grant Troja, the homeowner and a businessman whose company owns over 60 Arby's franchises," took legal action against the Pleatmans.
