7 Activities To Send "Good Vibes" To Your New Home

A new home means a new beginning - and you would like to jump start that with just positive vibes! No matter what vibe the previous owners had, you should always start fresh as soon as you take over.

Here are 7 activities to send good vibes to your new home according to Trulia:

Start with a deep cleaning

For this deep-cleaning, it is best to hire professionals! Start fresh and start clean by hiring people to deal with hard-to-reach windows and cobwebs to old bathroom scum, or even a musty smell of the old owners' cologne.

Bring on the sage

Once you are done with deep cleaning, what you need to do next is deep cleaning. In Latin, sage means "to heal", and it is believed to help cleanse your home of old energies. Get a bundle of dried sage (also called smudge stick), a fire-safe bowl, and cup of water at ready.

Open every door and window in your home before setting the smudge stick on fire. After which, blow it out so it's smoldering and catch the ash from the burnt sage with the bowl. Walk in every room of your home and allow the smoke to billow every space; pay extra attention to the corners where the old energies like to hang out. Extinguish the stick in the water after you finish all the areas.

Make an entrance

Feng Shui suggests that the flow of Chi energy into the home is greatly influenced by the front door. Allow good energy to make its way inside without interruption by keeping the pathway clear of any obstacle such as fallen leaves. Boost it up by placing plants (like money tree) on either side of your front door to achieve balance and harmony in your home.

Enliven your space (and improve your air) with plants

The inside of your house could also use plants here and there. Attract Chi energy by getting a lucky bamboo plant, or keep the atmosphere clear by throwing in a rubber plant which according to NASA has great potentials of removing air pollutants.

Add symbols of abundance

Bring abundance into your home by placing elements that represent it such as a basket of fresh fruits or a bunch of fresh (not fake) flowers. Don't use overripe fruits or wilted flowers which are symbols of decay and contradict your symbols of abundance.

Set your intentions

Having clarity - knowing your intentions for each room, the kind of energy you want to bring, and what you want to experience in each - will help define (and keep up) with good vibes. Do affirmations to fill your space with positive purpose by repeating your intention as you go along each room.
