After their reality show was cancelled, it was reported that the Duggars now have financial problems. According to Design & Trend, the "19 Kids And Counting" cats are now begging for money through their YouTube channel. It was estimated that after the cancellation of the show, which was their only source of income, the family has now lost $25 million.
The cancellation of the show was finalized following Josh Duggar's sex abuse scandal. Since they won't be seen in television anymore, the family is hoping to continue as YouTube sensations. Reports are circulating that in their YouTube channel, Duggar Studios, the family are asking for donations. In their channel, the family wrote, "Help Duggar Studios make more fresh quality content. Every contribution is helpful, big or small."
According to the report, the content they are talking about is different videos of the kids playing basketball or going to a trip to the dentist. It is considered not exactly "quality" content, and it seems like the videos do not require too much budget. The last video that was updated on the channel dates back to two months ago.
Radar Online reported that this was not the first time the family asked for donations after Josh's sexual abuse scandal came out. According to the report, Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard recently faced criticisms after they asked people for some donations for their mission trip. However, they hesitated to reveal where they were going.
The family is reportedly trying to bounce back after the scandal that involved Josh. The scandal broke out after a 2006 police report revealed that Josh Duggar molested five underage girls, which included some of his sisters when he was still a teenager. TLC is now planning to air an hour-long documentary about child abuse in the light of the scandal which involved the family. It was reported that Jill and Jessa Duggar will appear on the said documentary.
