Raven-Symone shared a lot of things about her child star experiences when she was in The View last Tuesday. Raven shared that she got to experience being told what to eat at a very young age, all because she was told that she was getting "fat".
She starred in many child/teen shows such as "The Cosby Show" and "That's So Raven". During the entire time of her childhood career, she experienced being deprived of the food that she would've wanted to eat. She admitted that even at the age of seven, she already had issues. She says that it was definitely hard. They use to have a table of food on set where different food was prepared and ready for anyone to eat. She was however always being told that "You can't eat that, you're getting fat."
Raven did not bother name the people who mentally affected her. But she shares that it was difficult for her to take the fact that people cannot accept her physical image. She says that it's more than just about food deprivation. Raven also says that all those experiences and words certainly made her depressed.
She did however lost weight in the recent years. Raven said that she did it to stop people from talking to her. She grew tired and irritated when people talk to her about her weight. Even though she was fine with herself, she had to start losing weight. She says that she was already proud of what she has, she loved her thick body. When she lost weight, she had to go to the gym every time just to "get it together".
She has also seen how the industry went from loving the slim and slender to celebrating the thick bodied women. It was when Raven starting to ask herself, "Are they (thick women) getting the same backlash as I am? Because I was thick."
